Residential bike fitting course in Spain
22–27 November 2026 on the Costa Blanca. Six places for fitters who want to look beyond standard rules and prescribed adjustments.
Join me in Spain from 22–27 November 2026 for a residential bike fitting course combining four days of in-depth tuition, daily rides on the Costa Blanca and three months of one-to-one mentoring.
The course is designed for bike fitters who want to look beyond standard rules and prescribed adjustments. We'll explore how variables, mechanisms and forces affect a rider, giving you a more structured way to work through difficult cases, choose appropriate interventions and understand why a change has, or hasn't, worked.
There are just six places available.

Develop a more consistent approach to bike fitting
A lot of bike fitting education is based on established associations between a symptom and a particular adjustment. If a rider reports a certain type of discomfort, the fitter makes the change commonly recommended for it.
Those rules can be useful, but they don't necessarily explain what is causing the problem in that individual rider. If the usual adjustment doesn't work, the fitter may have little basis for deciding what to try next.
During the course, we'll slow that process down and look at what is actually happening, why it may be happening and what any intervention is likely to change.
You'll learn how to:
- identify the variables that may be contributing to what you see during a fit
- understand the mechanisms behind a rider's movement, discomfort or compensation
- consider the forces acting on the rider and how these affect their position
- connect an intervention to a clear explanation of why it should work
- assess what caused an improvement, rather than simply noting that something changed
- work more methodically through difficult or less obvious cases
- incorporate this approach into your existing fitting process
This is the basis of what I call the Mechanism Method.
A framework for examining the rider in front of you, and for working towards an answer when the usual solution doesn't fit.
The course won't give you a rigid new protocol or ask you to discard everything you already do. It will give you a framework for examining the rider in front of you, making evidence-led decisions and working towards an answer when the usual solution doesn't fit the situation.
Four days of learning, with time to ride
Many comparable courses pack 24 hours of teaching into three eight-hour days. We'll cover those 24 hours over four six-hour days instead.
The shorter teaching days will give you more time to absorb the material, discuss cases and ask questions. They'll also leave enough time for us to get out on our bikes each day and enjoy the roads and climbs around the Costa Blanca.
The rides will be no-drop and designed to accommodate different fitness levels. You don't need to be exceptionally fit to take part. Where the route allows, stronger riders will be able to repeat climbs or add some extra distance without breaking up the group.
I worked as a cycling-holiday guide and mechanic at the start of my career, so I'm used to planning rides for groups with different levels of fitness and making sure everyone gets a worthwhile ride.
Three months of one-to-one mentoring
Learning a new approach during a course is one thing. Applying it when you're back in your own studio with a real rider is another.
That's why the course includes three months of one-to-one mentoring with me.
If part of the material hasn't clicked, you're struggling to apply it to a case or you're unsure how to incorporate it into your existing protocol, you can message or call me and we'll work through it together.
The mentoring is my way of standing behind the course. I don't want you to go home with a collection of notes and no idea how to put them into practice.
A full residential experience
We'll be based at a cyclist-friendly hotel near Calpe that is regularly used by professional cycling teams visiting the area for training camps.
Each room is a mini suite with its own seating area. The hotel is approximately 100 metres from the beach and also has a swimming pool and gym.
We'll study, ride, eat and stay in the same place. That means there will be plenty of time to discuss ideas, share experiences and continue conversations outside the formal teaching sessions.
The aim is to create an immersive residential experience, rather than a course where everyone disappears as soon as the day's teaching ends.
Bringing or hiring a bike
You're welcome to bring your own bike, but you don't have to. Bike hire can be arranged through our friends at Biking Luca.
The hotel has shared bike storage, although you can also keep your bike in your room. There is a small workshop area with tools where you can rebuild your bike after travelling and pack it again before heading home.
If you have a mechanical problem during one of the rides, we'll cover collection and transport back to the hotel. Biking Luca will then help get you riding again as quickly as possible.
What is included?
The total cost of the course is €2,270. This includes:
- four days and 24 hours of bike fitting tuition
- five nights' accommodation
- breakfast
- lunch on each teaching day
- one evening meal
- daily group rides
- three months of one-to-one mentoring
The fee is paid in two parts, which together make up the €2,270 total. The course fee is paid directly to me, and the delegate fee is paid to the hotel to cover your room, meals and a contribution towards the teaching space.
You will need to cover your own travel, additional evening meals and bike hire if required.
If you'd like to stay longer and turn the trip into a full week of riding, you can arrange additional nights directly with the hotel.
